Sleep comfort guides

Two comfort zones. One queen bed.

Your queen bed. A different feel on each side.

You do not need a larger bedroom to make room for two comfort preferences. A split queen mattress topper gives each sleeper a choice on the bed you already have.

Complete bundle from $389.00 USD. Size and insert choices affect price. Shipping at checkout.

Two separate comfort inserts fitted inside the Comfy Couples shared topper cover

Split inside. Shared on top.

What does “split queen topper” mean?

Here, split means the comfort inserts are separate. The topper fits over one queen mattress, with an insert for each side and one continuous comfort layer across the top.

It is different from a split queen mattress, where two separate mattress units may be used. You keep your existing queen mattress and frame. The topper changes the feel above them.

Choose Queen in the Dual Topper Bundle, then choose Left Side and Right Side inserts independently. You can have Soft on one side and Firm on the other, or select any available material combination.

Measure once. Choose well.

Queen sizing, without the guesswork.

A standard U.S. queen mattress is nominally 60 by 80 inches. Half of that sleeping surface is about 30 by 80 inches. A Twin XL is nominally 38 by 80 inches, so it is too wide to serve as a correctly fitted half-queen topper.

Choose the Queen version of the Comfy Couples system and its matching inserts instead of piecing together mismatched sizes. Product dimensions and manufacturing tolerances should be checked against the current product listing before ordering.

  • Keep your queen frame: the topper sits over your existing mattress.
  • Allow for extra height: two 2-inch side inserts sit beneath one shared 1-inch layer, adding about 3 inches.
  • Check your sheets: the fitted-sheet pocket must accommodate the mattress and topper together.
  • Check the base: a topper needs a supportive mattress underneath.

Keep the choice on your side

One queen surface, two personal choices.

Separate zippered pockets keep the side inserts within one case. The shared upper layer bridges their meeting point, so you make the bed as one bed.

Soft and Memory Foam offer different kinds of cushioning; Medium provides a balanced starting point; Firm offers less sink; Latex responds with a buoyant feel. Choose the feel you prefer rather than assuming that a particular sleeping position requires one fixed answer.

When two sides use very different materials, moving across the middle may reveal a transition in feel. The topper is designed for a continuous surface, not a guarantee that different firmness levels will feel identical.

Let the room stay as it is

Why keep the queen you already own?

A queen can be the right fit for your bedroom, frame, and bedding. Replacing it with a king just to get different comfort levels adds decisions and expense that may not address the actual problem any better.

If surface comfort is the issue, changing the layers above your queen lets you keep a setup that otherwise works. Later, one insert can be replaced without changing the other sleeper’s choice.

The details that matter

Your questions, answered.

Can I get a queen topper that is soft on one side and firm on the other?

Yes. Select the Queen Dual Topper Bundle and choose Soft for one side and Firm for the other. Other available insert combinations can also be selected independently.

Do two Twin XL toppers fit a queen mattress?

No. Two standard Twin XL widths total about 76 inches, while a standard queen is about 60 inches wide. Choose the matching Queen system instead.

Do I need separate sheets?

The topper creates one continuous top surface on a queen mattress. Use a fitted sheet with enough pocket depth for your mattress plus the added topper height.

Can I buy just the queen cover?

The cover is sold separately, but it is not the complete two-insert setup. Start with the Dual Topper Bundle if you need the whole system.
